Devotional Teaching

The Holy Spirit equips women and men, younger and older believers, to serve Christ. We welcome His gifts while pursuing the love that directs their use. A spiritual gift should build others up rather than establish the importance of the speaker. Test what is shared by Scripture and receive mature discernment. Pray for healing, wisdom and bold witness with compassion and humility. Make room for every generation to contribute, learn and grow. KDC’s spiritual life becomes healthier when power, character and care for people develop together.

Deeper Insight

1 Samuel 23–25 shows David seeking direction, refusing to kill Saul and receiving Abigail’s wise intervention. Spiritual sensitivity includes restraint and a willingness to accept correction. Strong feeling alone is not proof that a proposed action is God’s will.

Biblical Examples

  • David (1 Samuel 23:1–5): He seeks the Lord’s direction before acting.
  • Abigail (1 Samuel 25:23–35): Wise intervention turns David away from bloodshed.
  • Pentecost (Acts 2:1–18): The Spirit empowers witness across human distinctions.
