Revive Us Again

God welcomes the weary into His presence.

Scripture Foundations

Psalm 85:6 (KJV) — “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?”
Psalm 16:11 (KJV) — “Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.”

Bible Tour: DAY 86 OF 365 1 Samuel 20–22

Devotional Teaching

God welcomes the weary into His presence. Prayer for revival is also a prayer for renewed delight in Him. Disappointment can make worship feel difficult and service feel heavy. Bring these experiences honestly to the Lord rather than hiding them behind religious language. Receive encouragement, rest and companionship as gifts, and seek appropriate help when burdens persist. Joy in God can coexist with tears. Let Scripture and prayer become places of truthful fellowship again. As He renews us, we can offer others the patient care we have received.

Deeper Insight

1 Samuel 20–22 follows David through faithful friendship, danger and refuge. Jonathan strengthens their covenant friendship, and David’s family joins him at the cave of Adullam. Seasons of pressure reveal the importance of trustworthy relationships and responsible care.

Biblical Examples

  • Jonathan (1 Samuel 20): He remains a faithful friend under pressure.
  • David (1 Samuel 22:1–4): He seeks provision and safety for his parents during displacement.
  • Elijah (1 Kings 19:1–18): God meets exhaustion with care, presence and renewed direction.

Prayer Focus

  1. Revive our personal devotion, families and congregation.
  2. Heal discouragement and restore joy in Your presence.
  3. Teach us to receive support and care patiently for one another.

Spirit-Led Growth Step

Tell God honestly where you feel weary. Receive His care through Scripture, rest and trustworthy companionship.
