A Welcoming and Joyful Spiritual Family

A loving church makes room at the table and in its daily life.

Scripture Foundations

Acts 2:46–47 (KJV) — “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
Romans 15:7 (KJV) — “Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.”

Bible Tour: DAY 78 OF 365 Judges 21; Ruth 1–2

Devotional Teaching

A loving church makes room at the table and in its daily life. The believers in Acts shared worship, meals and glad fellowship while the Lord added those being saved. We can prepare a welcome, remember names and build relationships; salvation remains God’s work. Look beyond people who already feel familiar. A newcomer may need a conversation, a clear explanation or an invitation to share a meal. Warmth grows through follow-through after Sunday. Ask God to make KDC a family where people are known, taught and included without favouritism.

Deeper Insight

Judges 21 ends with further injustice and the statement that everyone did what was right in their own eyes. Ruth 1–2 then introduces faithful love in the same broad era. Ruth’s loyalty and Boaz’s protection show care taking practical form amid hardship.

Biblical Examples

  • Ruth (Ruth 1:16–18): She stays with Naomi through loss and uncertainty.
  • Boaz (Ruth 2:8–16): He welcomes Ruth and provides practical protection and provision.
  • The early church (Acts 2:42–47): Shared worship and generosity accompany community life.

Prayer Focus

  1. Give KDC unity, joy and a sincere welcome.
  2. Draw people to salvation and help us establish them in loving fellowship.
  3. Teach us to notice newcomers and include those who feel isolated.

Spirit-Led Growth Step

Ask God to widen your circle of welcome. Make room in your attention and routine for someone who is not yet well connected.

Daily Declaration

We welcome others as Christ welcomed us. Our fellowship is marked by joy, generosity and care.

Practical Action

Invite someone outside your usual circle into a conversation, meal or fellowship activity.
