Steadfast Love in the Work of God
Some acts of love bear fruit slowly.Scripture Foundations
1 Corinthians 15:58 (KJV) — “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
Galatians 6:9 (KJV) — “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Bible Tour: DAY 68 OF 365 Joshua 15–17
Devotional Teaching
Some acts of love bear fruit slowly. A repeated invitation, a patient conversation or a faithful prayer may seem unnoticed. Paul grounds perseverance in the resurrection: our labour in the Lord has lasting significance. Steadfastness includes receiving help and renewing strength, not pretending that fatigue is unreal. Speak honestly when a load becomes too heavy, and share responsibility wisely. Keep doing the good that God has entrusted to you. The church needs consistent love through ordinary weeks as well as enthusiasm during special programmes.
Deeper Insight
Joshua 15–17 describes tribal inheritances, particular requests and areas still contested. Receiving an inheritance did not remove every responsibility ahead. These chapters encourage faithful participation while also recording unfinished work honestly.
Biblical Examples
- Achsah (Joshua 15:18–19): She asks for the water resources needed for her land.
- Joseph’s descendants (Joshua 17:14–18): Their complaint is answered with a call to further action.
- Anna (Luke 2:36–38): Long faithfulness in worship prepares her to recognise Jesus.
Prayer Focus
- Strengthen every leader, worker and member who is tired.
- Heal discouragement and teach us to share responsibility wisely.
