Wholehearted Service in Ordinary Tasks
Love for Christ changes the way we approach ordinary work.Scripture Foundations
Colossians 3:23–24 (KJV) — “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.”
1 Corinthians 4:2 (KJV) — “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.”

Devotional Teaching
Love for Christ changes the way we approach ordinary work. Setting up a room, answering a message or preparing a lesson can become an offering to Him. Excellence means doing appropriate work with care, honesty and attention to people. It does not require flawless performance or constant overwork. When mistakes happen, take responsibility and improve the process. When no one applauds, remember whom you serve. KDC becomes stronger as each worker honours commitments and supports others. Offer today’s task to Jesus before beginning it, and finish it as faithfully as you can.
Deeper Insight
Joshua 12–14 moves from a record of victories to the distribution of land and Caleb’s request. Caleb’s enduring confidence rests on God’s promise and his wholehearted following of the Lord. Faithful service can continue through long waiting.
Biblical Examples
- Caleb (Joshua 14:6–14): He remains wholehearted over many years.
- The faithful servants (Matthew 25:14–23): Entrusted resources call for responsible stewardship.
- Dorcas (Acts 9:36–39): Her practical work leaves evidence of care for others.
Prayer Focus
- Teach every KDC worker to serve wholeheartedly.
- Replace carelessness and inconsistency with preparation and humility.
- Strengthen our teams with skill, cooperation and faithful follow-through.
