A Mind Renewed by Love and Truth
The mind needs more than positive thoughts; it needs the truth and character of Christ.Scripture Foundations
Romans 12:2 (KJV) — “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Philippians 2:5 (KJV) — “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”
Bible Tour: DAY 64 OF 365 Joshua 3–5
Devotional Teaching
The mind needs more than positive thoughts; it needs the truth and character of Christ. Cultural pressure can teach us to measure people by status, defend selfishness and dismiss inconvenient obedience. God’s Word reshapes these assumptions. Read slowly enough to notice where your thinking differs from His. A renewed mind learns to ask what is true, what serves others and what honours the Lord. During these opening days of consecration, surrender a familiar excuse. Allow Scripture to change your response before you ask God to change your circumstances.
Deeper Insight
Joshua 3–5 records the crossing of the Jordan, memorial stones, circumcision and Passover. Israel remembers its identity and God’s deliverance before further advance. The encounter near Jericho reminds Joshua that he stands under divine authority, not above it.
Biblical Examples
- Israel’s memorial (Joshua 4): Remembering God’s works shapes the next generation’s understanding.
- Joshua (Joshua 5:13–15): He responds to holy authority with reverence.
- The Bereans (Acts 17:10–12): They examine Scripture rather than accepting claims uncritically.
Prayer Focus
- Renew our minds through Your Word.
- Break patterns of fear, compromise and selfish thinking.
- Give KDC discernment and courage to obey Your will.
Spirit-Led Growth Step
Compare a recurring assumption with Scripture. Replace your usual response with one that reflects the mind of Christ.
Daily Declaration
Our minds are renewed by God’s Word. We learn to discern and obey His good, acceptable and perfect will.
Practical Action
