Bible Tour: DAY 90 OF 365 2 Samuel 1–3
Devotional Teaching
God’s care invites us to pray confidently about real needs. Paul speaks to a church that had shared generously in his ministry, linking gratitude, partnership and trust. Bring needs for food, work, facilities, equipment and willing helpers before the Lord. Trust does not remove the need to plan, ask for help or make prudent adjustments. As provision comes, remember those still waiting. We may become part of the answer to someone else’s prayer. Let KDC be a community where needs can be shared with dignity and resources are handled faithfully.
Deeper Insight
2 Samuel 1–3 begins with mourning and a difficult transition toward David’s kingship. David honours Saul and Jonathan rather than celebrating their deaths. Even during advancement, love recognises grief and refuses to treat people merely as obstacles or opportunities.
Biblical Examples
- David’s lament (2 Samuel 1:17–27): He honours the fallen and makes room for grief.
- The Philippians (Philippians 4:14–19): Practical partnership supports Paul in need.
- The believers (Acts 11:27–30): They prepare relief for a coming famine.
Prayer Focus
- Supply the spiritual, human and material needs of KDC and our members.
- Guide our planning and provide willing, skilled helpers for Gospel work.
- Make us generous channels of provision to people facing hardship.
