Bible Tour: Deuteronomy 13-15
Devotional Teaching
Favour is not permission to use people. It is grace that creates access, credibility and cooperation for divine purpose. Relationships become stronger through mercy and truth: kindness without deception, honesty without cruelty. Influence grows when people can trust our character, respect our competence and experience our service. Honour others, keep commitments, communicate clearly and refuse opportunistic networking. The Holy Spirit can connect us with helpers, mentors, partners and people we are meant to help.
Deeper Insight
Influence must be protected from deception and expressed through generosity. Deuteronomy 13-15 rejects voices that pull people from God and commands open hands toward the poor. Godly relationships grow where truth, compassion and financial integrity make covenant love credible.
Biblical Examples
- Israel's Open-Handed Community (Deuteronomy 13-15): Truth protected the people from manipulative voices, while debt release and generosity strengthened covenant relationships.
- Ruth and Boaz (Ruth 2-4): Character, honour and responsible kindness created trust and redemptive partnership.
- Barnabas and Paul (Acts 9:26-28; 11:22-26): Barnabas used credibility to open relational doors and develop another person's calling.
