Wisdom: The Principal Tool for Exploits

Wisdom applies truth accurately so that power, opportunity and effort produce good success.

Scripture Foundations

Proverbs 4:7 - "Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."
James 1:5 - "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally."

Bible Tour: Deuteronomy 1-3

Devotional Teaching

Wisdom is more than information. It is the God-given capacity to understand what matters, choose the right response and act in the right manner and timing. Faith without wisdom may become careless; power without wisdom may create damage; opportunity without wisdom may be wasted. We grow wise through Scripture, prayer, observation, counsel, correction and experience. Higher exploits require believers who ask not only, 'Can this be done?' but also, 'Should it be done, when, how and with whom?'

Deeper Insight

Moses began his final instruction by reviewing history, appointing wise leaders and interpreting both failure and victory. Wisdom learns from what happened, shares responsibility and recognizes when a former limitation has become a present opportunity. Good success grows from remembered lessons.

Biblical Examples

  • Moses and Israel's Judges (Deuteronomy 1-3): Wise and respected leaders shared responsibility while Moses reviewed past failure, divine correction and recent victories.
  • Solomon (1 Kings 3:16-28): Divine wisdom uncovered truth in a case where ordinary evidence was limited.
  • The Apostles (Acts 6:1-7): They redesigned ministry responsibility so that justice, prayer and the Word could all advance.

Prayer Focus

  1. Father, give me wisdom and understanding for every responsibility before me.
  2. Holy Spirit, teach me to recognize timing, consequences and the right method.
  3. Deliver me from haste, assumption, stubbornness and resistance to counsel.
  4. Let wisdom establish KDC families, careers, ministries, finances and future plans.
