Strengthened with Might in the Inner Man

The Holy Spirit builds inward strength that remains steady when outward conditions are difficult.

Scripture Foundations

Ephesians 3:16 - "That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man."
Isaiah 40:31 - "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles."

Bible Tour: Numbers 10-12

Devotional Teaching

Moses carried the weight of a complaining nation, difficult relationships and more responsibility than one person could sustain. God did not answer by praising exhaustion; He placed the Spirit upon seventy elders so the burden could be shared. Inner might includes humility, emotional steadiness and the willingness to receive Spirit-enabled help. When criticism came, Moses remained meek. Strength is proven by a heart that stays governed under pressure.

Deeper Insight

Moses faced complaints, leadership overload, jealousy and personal criticism. God strengthened the work by placing the Spirit upon seventy elders, while Moses refused envy and remained meek. Inner might includes the humility to share responsibility and the stability to endure attack without losing character.

Biblical Examples

  • Moses and the Seventy Elders (Numbers 10-12): Under heavy pressure, Moses received shared Spirit-enabled leadership and remained meek when personally opposed.
  • David (1 Samuel 30:1-6): When leaders blamed him and grief was overwhelming, he encouraged himself in the Lord.
  • Paul (2 Corinthians 4:7-18): He carried pressure without surrendering hope because inward renewal continued daily.
