Building Faith by Hearing, Speaking and Acting
Strong faith grows through a repeated cycle of receiving the Word, declaring it and obeying it.Scripture Foundations
Romans 10:17 - "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."
Mark 11:23 - "Whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart... he shall have whatsoever he saith."
Bible Tour: Leviticus 19-21
Devotional Teaching
Faith must be fed, voiced and exercised. Hearing the Word supplies its foundation. Speaking in agreement with God trains the heart away from fear. Acting on the Word turns conviction into spiritual muscle. Many believers feed anxiety all week and expect one sermon to produce mountain-moving faith. Higher exploits require a new diet and discipline. Guard what repeatedly enters your ears, refuse words that magnify defeat, and take actions consistent with God's truth. Faith grows stronger through use.
Deeper Insight
In Leviticus 19-21, holiness moves from the sanctuary into fields, wages, speech, justice, family and neighbourly love. Faith grows strong when the Word is heard repeatedly, spoken sincerely and converted into conduct. What we believe becomes visible in ordinary decisions.
Biblical Examples
- Israel's Covenant Community (Leviticus 19-21): God's repeated call to holiness became practical action in work, business, family, worship and treatment of neighbours.
- David (1 Samuel 17:32-50): He rehearsed God's past faithfulness, spoke courage and ran toward Goliath.
- The Four Friends (Mark 2:1-12): Their faith became visible through determined action that brought a paralysed man to Jesus.
