Walking with God Beyond the Crowd
Lasting exploits grow from a private walk with God, not from public excitement alone.Scripture Foundations
Genesis 5:24 - "And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him."
John 15:5 - "I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
Bible Tour: Leviticus 4-6
Devotional Teaching
Leviticus shows that a close walk with God is sustained by truth in the inward parts. Sin had to be acknowledged, forgiveness received, wrongs repaired and the altar fire maintained. Private consecration gives public service integrity. The Holy Spirit invites us to bring motives, habits, conversations and relationships into the light so that nothing secretly weakens our fellowship with God. Higher exploits are not built on appearance; they flow from a cleansed heart and a living altar.
Deeper Insight
Leviticus 4-6 shows that walking with God requires more than public worship. Hidden and unintentional sin had to be faced, wrongs repaired and the altar fire maintained. A deep private walk combines honest repentance, restored relationships and a daily flame that is not allowed to go out.
Biblical Examples
- The Repentant Worshiper (Leviticus 4-6): Sin was acknowledged, atonement was received, restitution was made and the altar fire was kept burning.
- Noah (Genesis 6:8-22): His walk with God produced grace, clear instruction and obedient preparation before the rain appeared.
- Mary of Bethany (Luke 10:38-42): She chose attentive presence at Jesus' feet before activity and received what could not be taken away.
