Higher Exploits Begin with Consecration

Devotional Teaching

Higher exploits do not begin with greater visibility; they begin with deeper surrender. God is not looking first for impressive ability but for a vessel He can trust. Consecration places our ambitions, habits, relationships, time and gifts under the lordship of Jesus. It is not the loss of purpose; it is the purification of purpose. When the altar becomes complete, the fire can fall without destroying the vessel. This month, refuse selective obedience. Let the Holy Spirit search every room of your heart and align it with God's will.

Deeper Insight

The opening offerings of Leviticus place worship at the centre of covenant life. The burnt offering was wholly yielded, the grain offering honoured God with the fruit of labour, and the peace offering celebrated fellowship. Higher exploits begin when the whole person, daily work and relationships are placed on God's altar.

Biblical Examples

  • Israel's Worshipers (Leviticus 1-3): The burnt, grain and peace offerings taught full surrender, consecrated work and fellowship with God.
  • Isaiah (Isaiah 6:1-8): Cleansing at the altar prepared him to answer God's call with an unreserved, 'Here am I; send me.'
