Devotional Teaching
Jesus describes the Spirit's ministry with a clear direction: He shall glorify Me. This provides a simple centre for Banquet with the King. We gather to honour Jesus Christ, proclaim His grace, and welcome the work of His Spirit among us. A meaningful encounter is not defined only by the strength of an emotion. We long for people to understand the gospel, turn to Christ, receive His help, and continue walking with Him.
Paul tells the Corinthians that their faith should rest in the power of God rather than the wisdom of men. His message centred on Jesus Christ and Him crucified. This does not make thoughtful preparation or skilled communication unimportant. It locates our confidence correctly. Music, hospitality, teaching, and technology are servants of the gospel, not substitutes for the Spirit's work in the heart.
Come with holy expectation. Ask the Father to save, heal, comfort, restore, and renew. Ask for spiritual gifts that strengthen people and for clarity when the Word is shared. Ask that the burdened find hope and that believers receive fresh courage for obedience. We do not need to choose between reverence and joy, order and openness, or truth and compassion. The Spirit who empowers also leads us in love and wisdom.
Keep the person before you in view. A guest may need a quiet conversation as much as a public moment. Listen without rushing, ask permission before personal prayer, and direct pastoral or practical needs to the appropriate person. Honour privacy and tell testimonies accurately. A changed life is precious even when its beginning is quiet. Resist the temptation to measure God's work only by what can be photographed or announced.
Today, offer your heart to the King before the gathering begins. Pray for the ministers, the Regina City Mass Choir, every worker, and every guest. Then remain available to serve. Whether your role is visible or hidden, let it become an expression of love for Jesus. At the end of the evening, may our deepest joy be that He has been honoured and people have been helped toward Him. Lord, manifest Your power in us, through us, and among us, and let all the glory belong to You.
Deeper Insight
A Christ-centred gathering seeks more than a memorable evening; it seeks people established in the grace and truth of Jesus.
Scripture-Led Prayers and Declarations
1. Let faith rest in God's power
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (KJV)
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.
Prayer: Father, let the message and ministry of this gathering point people to Jesus Christ. Demonstrate Your Spirit and power among us. Save, heal, restore, and strengthen according to Your wisdom, and establish faith in You rather than in human personality.
Declaration: Jesus is the centre of this gathering. Our confidence is in God's power and the truth of His gospel.
2. Open hearts to the gospel
Colossians 4:3 (KJV)
Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
Prayer: Lord, open a door for clear, gracious proclamation. Prepare every guest to hear of Jesus. Give ministers wisdom, love, and spiritual sensitivity. Help our hosts and volunteers welcome people warmly and care for their needs attentively.
Declaration: We will make room for the gospel to be heard. Our words and service will point people toward Christ.
3. Establish fruit that remains
John 15:16 (KJV)
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, let what begins today continue in lasting discipleship. Draw people into prayer, Scripture, fellowship, and obedience. Unite the Mass Choir and our partner churches in love, and help us care faithfully for every person entrusted to us.
Declaration: We seek lasting fruit for God's glory. Our care for people will continue beyond this gathering.
Daily Declaration
Jesus Christ is Lord, and Banquet with the King is dedicated to His glory. We welcome the Holy Spirit's work in truth, love, and power. May souls turn to Christ, the sick receive healing, the burdened find strength, and believers grow in faithful obedience. We will serve with humility and give God every glory. Lord, let the fruit remain. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
Practical Action
Pray for one minister, one worker, and one invited guest by name. Enter the gathering ready to worship and serve, and help someone feel genuinely welcomed.
Journal Prompt
How will I recognise and celebrate God's work without limiting it to what is dramatic or publicly visible?
OUR UNITED DECLARATION FOR NOVEMBER
We are a people loved by the Father, redeemed by Jesus Christ and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
This November, we yield ourselves afresh to God. We receive grace to know His Word, obey His voice and walk in His wisdom.
We trust Him for mercy, favour, direction and provision. We bring our families, marriages, health, careers and businesses under His care. We will work diligently, love faithfully and follow His leading.
We ask for fresh fire, fresh dew and fresh empowerment. May our faith deepen, our understanding grow and our service bear lasting fruit.
We dedicate KDC, Banquet with the King, the Regina City Mass Choir, RCRC and 1,000 Voices to the glory of God. Let worship rise, let the gospel be heard, let lives be restored and let people come to Jesus.
Lord, manifest Your power in us, through us and among us. Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen!
